Mekka Okereke
CEO
Mekka Okereke is the Chief Executive Officer of Semaphore Mobile, A leading provider
of wireless software and services. Mekka also serves as the Managing Partner of Renwick
Brown LLC. Renwick Brown is a specialty software consulting firm that develops
web sites and software for leading law firms, such as Irell & Manella, and Steptoe
and Johnson.
Prior to his work with Semaphore, Mekka co-founded Karbon Systems LLC, a pioneer
in BlackBerry software development, where he served as Chief Technology Officer.
While at Karbon, Mekka was responsible for building and managing the professional
services team and managing all client engagements, including StorageTek, SUN Microsystems,
the Eaton Corpration and the US Department of Energy. Karbon Systems was sold to Global
Wireless Data in 2005. Mekka’s work with Karbon Systems was featured in INC magazine
article, “Facing the Capital Gap.”
Mekka also serves on the board of Prodigy Mentors, a non-profit organized by NBA
basketball players to help underprivileged youth attend college and university. Prodigy
Mentors focuses on youth who do not have outstanding athletic ability.
Mekka received his Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Pomona College in Claremont,
CA.
Eric Silverthorn
President
Eric Silverthorn, President of Semaphore Mobile has over 23 years of
experience in the telecommunications industry. Mr. Silverthorn has specific
expertise in developing strategic relationships and alliances with overseas
telecommunication providers in the areas of VoIP, satellite communications,
and network products.
Mr. Silverthorn has also served as co-founder and
President of Semaphore Partners – RevCom Inc, a leading VoIP, satellite
and GSM network systems integration company where he was responsible for
all aspects of sales, operations and engineering.
Before co-founding
Semaphore Partners – RevCom, Mr. Silverthorn was Vice President and
General Manager of IDB Systems, a division of IDB Worldcom.
Eric
earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronic Technology from the
University of Houston.
