The tech world has long been subject to outsourcing – companies finding resources around the world to fulfill opportunities for a seemingly lighter bottom line – seemingly that is – at least in the mobile application software arena, as the “you get what you pay for” adage rings true quite often.
Cost and product failures from developers in other countries have been to the benefit for Dallas-area based Semaphore Mobile as more than 20 percent of their business has come from failed first attempts by companies who have indeed looked for the bargain across the seas.
“It is always two in the morning somewhere – either for the customer or the developer and trying to connect the dots, so that work can get done, it a lot more difficult when someone is, or wants to be, sleeping,” said Eric Silverthorn, president of Semaphore Mobile. “Knowing your team is working for you, when you are working, is an ace in the hole.”
Semaphore Mobile’s registry of close to 400 iPhone operating projects, and nearly 300 for Android systems have run the gamut from mobile strategy and brand management to enterprise solutions for Fortune 100 companies. The recognized benefits of a local team – local to the continent at the very least – cannot be understated.
