Apple’s heart is pumping even faster than it can stock its newest offering and the time is now, literally, for the Apple Watch Series 4.
With the new facespace’s curved corners, images reach the far points of the screen, and the interface has been redesigned allowing greater details with more information, the wearable is likely to be welcomed to a whole new audience – seniors who until recently felt their standby timepiece stable.
Beyond textability, social connections, exercise and the myriad of apps to date, the Series 4 becomes an electrocardiogram on your wrist with heart rate notifications, fall detection and emergency SOS support – an “intelligent guardian” on the wrist says Apple. If a user falls, a notification appears on the screen. If all is good, the user can clear the crisis, or push through the emergency SOS button for help. Without any response, the 911 will automatically be summoned.
Providing critical real-time data for doctors, electrodes built into the digital crown and the back crystal will work with the ECG app to read the heart’s electrical signals. In 30 seconds the data can indicate signs of atrial fibrillation or if the user’s heart is beating in a normal pattern.
“We’ve created a pulse oximeter that interfaced via Bluetooth to mobile devices, triage tools, medical professional matching sources, a differential diagnosis app, and a tool allowing for secured collaboration in a clinical practice,” said Eric Silverthorn, President of the Dallas-area based Semaphore Mobile which has developed nearly 400 iPhone apps and close to 300 Android pieces.
“More information is better, faster information saves lives, collecting data is easy and important – with data, decisions that save lives, happens more reliably.”
Just posted September 13, availability is already pushed for almost a month for the watch. The thinner watch, with 50-percent louder speaker, an 18-hour battery life and a viewing area that is more than 30-percent greater, the Series 4 is powered by LTPO technology, which powers individual pixels, in great part determining display resolution, refresh rates, and power consumption.
“We expect to continue to be at the forefront – connecting to peripheral devices for the healthcare space,” said Silverthorn, whose Semaphore Mobile is entering decade two alongside the product companies it supports. “Every day in this business is exciting, every day something is new, and every day we are creating the best for our customers – in turn, the best for theirs.”
Semaphore has been making time – helping Apple and Android users connect – for more than a decade, and time – and this team’s inspiration – isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
